Years in Television

She didn't just survive. She built something.

Formerly Head of Features for ITV's Lorraine, Helen turned her own 2018 diagnosis of aggressive grade 3 breast cancer into a national movement, launching the Change + Check campaign with Lorraine Kelly.

While still in treatment — a mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy — she created a public health intervention that now sits in changing rooms across John Lewis, Boots, Asda, David Lloyd, and Monsoon. Over 150 people have caught their cancer early because of it.

Davina McCall publicly credited the campaign for catching her own breast cancer. The initiative has been discussed in Parliament and endorsed by Madonna, Naomi Campbell, and Emma Bunton.

“Most speakers tell you how they survived. Helen will tell you what she built.”
